Ministry of Power Division Reduces Electricity Bills in Pakistan

Consumers in Pakistan are set to receive a significant reduction in their electricity bills for the month of May. This development comes as a result of a petition submitted to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) to lower the fuel cost adjustment from Rs4.92 per unit to Rs2.94 per unit for May, compared to April.

The Ministry of Power Division announced that the power tariff for April had already been reduced from Rs7.6 per unit to Rs4.92 per unit when compared to March. This marks the third consecutive month where efforts have been made by the government to seek reductions in electricity bills.

Minister for Power Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari emphasized that the benefits of the reduced fuel prices would directly benefit the people, reflecting the government's commitment to providing relief to consumers.
