NBP President, Mr. Rehmat Ali Hasnie, plays a pivotal role in enhancing economic cooperation between Pakistan and China during the Pakistan China Business Conference in Shenzhen. Discussions with key officials and potential collaborations with Chinese entities signal a positive outlook for future partnerships.

National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) President, Mr. Rehmat Ali Hasnie, participated in the Pakistan China Business Conference held in Shenzhen, China. The event was a part of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's official visit to China, with the goal of strengthening trade and economic ties with Beijing and attracting Chinese investors through business-to-business (B2B) initiatives.

During the conference, Mr. Hasnie engaged in discussions with key officials, including Mr. SHI Weigan, Director-General of the Shenzhen Local Financial Supervision Administration, to explore the potential establishment of an NBP branch in Shenzhen and take advantage of government incentives.

Moreover, the NBP President had fruitful discussions with representatives from the Ministry of Finance and Silk Road International Investment Management Co. Ltd. (SRIIF) to explore avenues for collaboration. He also met with Mr. Wallace LAI, COO of Huawei Technologies, and Mr. Ethan SUN, CEO of Huawei Pakistan, to explore potential partnerships in smart products, financial solutions, and services. Mr. Hasnie visited the Huawei Technology Centre to learn about their latest innovations.

Mr. Hasnie also shared his insights on the conference in media interviews with China Economic News and PTV, Pakistan's national television network. He expressed optimism about the conference's significance in opening a 'new chapter' for both countries and highlighted the mutual commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment. Mr. Hasnie reiterated NBP's commitment to providing comprehensive banking services to businesses resulting from this collaboration.
