President Zardari and Ambassador Cohodarevic Strengthen Economic Ties

President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan recently met with the Ambassador of Bosnia & Herzegovina, Mr Emin Cohodarevic, to discuss the importance of strengthening business and trade ties between the two nations. The meeting, held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, highlighted the mutual interest in enhancing economic cooperation through various initiatives.

President Zardari emphasized the need to explore opportunities such as opening banks, conducting trade in local currencies, and promoting barter trade to facilitate smoother business transactions between Pakistan and Bosnia & Herzegovina. He welcomed the Ambassador and acknowledged the longstanding friendly relationship that has existed between the two countries for almost three decades.

During the meeting, Ambassador Cohodarevic expressed Bosnia & Herzegovina's keen interest in deepening relations with Pakistan across multiple sectors including economy, security, and culture. He highlighted the potential for collaboration in areas such as food, tourism, and textiles, inviting Pakistani enterprises to explore business opportunities in Bosnia & Herzegovina.

The Ambassador also sought Pakistan's support for Bosnia and Herzegovina's resolution on Srebrenica at the United Nations General Assembly, referencing Pakistan's assistance during the war in the 1990s. President Zardari assured the Ambassador of considering Bosnia's request and reiterated Pakistan's solidarity with the victims of the Srebrenica tragedy.
