Oil Tankers Association Suspends Supply Over Measurement Dispute

The All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association has taken a drastic step by announcing the suspension of petroleum products supply in various regions as a protest against Pakistan State Oil's alleged inaccurate measurement practices. The association cited dissatisfaction with the measurement accuracy from PSO administration as the primary reason for their decision.

According to the association, the suspension of petroleum products delivery will affect areas including Gilgit-Baltistan, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, and all airports in the country. The association emphasized that the supply suspension will continue until their demands are met, highlighting the importance of filling under a metered system for accurate measurements.

The association claimed that despite sending legal notices to PSO officials and the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad, they did not receive any response. They expressed concerns about the Flow Meter Automation System not providing precise measurements, leading to discrepancies in the amount of material received at PSO outlets.

The association's notice outlined instances where tank lorries experienced shortages or excess material at the receiving end, causing conflicts between the drivers and outlet staff. They urged for a resolution within three days to avoid potential legal and criminal actions.
