Punjab Excise Department Implements New Motorcycle Registration Fees

The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has implemented a new fee structure for registering motorcycles, including the popular Honda CG 125, in line with the Budget 2024-25 approval by the provincial government. It is now compulsory for all motorcycle buyers, particularly those opting for the Honda CG 125, to register their vehicles with the Excise department to avoid legal consequences and fines for non-compliance. Individuals are required to pay a specified fee to the excise department for the registration process.

The Honda CG 125 is a well-known motorcycle model in Pakistan, renowned for its durability, reliability, and fuel efficiency. This 125cc bike is widely used for daily commuting and is favored by riders for its robust performance. Despite facing competition from other brands, the Honda CG 125 remains a top-selling choice due to its appealing design and efficiency.

Recently, the Punjab Assembly approved the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2024-25, unveiling new tax regulations and registration fees for motorcycles and cars. The registration fee for motorcycles and scooters has been set at Rs1,500, with an additional 10% annual charge for registration transfers within ten years. These updated registration fees will come into effect from July 1, 2024.

The revised fee structure for registering motorcycles, including the Honda CG 125, by the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department aims to streamline the registration process and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
