The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board awards a Rs110 million contract for the Bhatta ground cattle market, emphasizing transparency and efficiency in the bidding process.

The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has recently made headlines by awarding a lucrative contract worth Rs110 million for the Bhatta ground cattle market, the largest in the twin cities. The contract was secured by contractor Riaz Hussain through Moeen Khan & Co. after outbidding 27 other participants in a competitive re-auction process. The bidding started at a base price of Rs89.5 million, mirroring the previous year's contract price.

Initially, the highest bid of Rs150 million was placed by Malik Ghulam Mustafa and Partners. However, due to their failure to meet the advance payment deadline, their bid was disqualified, resulting in the forfeiture of their Rs5 million security deposit. In the subsequent re-auction, Riaz Hussain emerged victorious with a bid of Rs110 million, closely followed by Raja Shahid at Rs105.1 million. The winning bidder made an initial payment of Rs55.25 million, with the remainder to be paid in installments before Eidul Azha.

The contractor who submitted the highest bid and paid 50% in advance will take possession of the Bhatta ground for the cattle market from May 30 onwards. It is noteworthy that the cantonment board had previously awarded the livestock market contract for considerably lower amounts in past years, with the latest contract generating Rs110.5 million in revenue, inclusive of the confiscated security deposit.

Speaking on behalf of the cantonment board, spokesperson Rasheed Saqib underscored the transparency of the bidding process and underscored the importance of awarding this contract. The Bhatta ground cattle market serves as a vital facility in the region, and the board is dedicated to ensuring a smooth experience for citizens during Eidul Azha.

The awarding of the Rs110 million contract for the Bhatta ground cattle market by the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board signifies a significant development in the region's livestock market sector. With a focus on transparency and efficiency, the board aims to provide a seamless experience for residents during the upcoming Eidul Azha festivities.
