The annual Eid ul Azha livestock market in the twin cities has set a new record this year with a successful auction reaching a staggering Rs 109.9 million. The market, situated at Bhatta Chowk, will require an entry fee of Rs 3000 for large animals and Rs 2000 for small animals. The management contract for the market was awarded to Riaz Hussain, who secured the bid through Moin Khan, outbidding 19 other participants in the recent auction.

Highlighting the significance of transparency and adherence to health and safety standards, CEO of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board, Syed Ali Irfan Rizvi, oversaw the auction process for the Eid ul Azha 2024 cattle market. The strict regulations implemented during the auction led to a substantial increase in the final bid amount, rising from last year's Rs 89.5 million to the current Rs 109.9 million.
