Stellantis plans to expand its product range in Saudi Arabia with smart cars and light commercial vehicles, aligning its strategy with Vision 2030 goals and aiming for increased market share and regional production autonomy by 2030.

Dutch-based automobile manufacturing corporation Stellantis is set to expand its product range in Saudi Arabia by introducing smart cars and light commercial vehicles into the market. Samir Cherfan, the chief operating officer of Stellantis in the Middle East and Africa, revealed that the company's Dare Forward 2030 plan aims to transform the automaker into a mobility tech company. Cherfan highlighted that Stellantis plans to introduce and expand models, including smart cars and light commercial vehicles under its Fiat, Citroen, and Peugeot brands, to drive increased market share in the Kingdom.

Cherfan emphasized that Stellantis' strategy aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 objectives, supporting economic diversification and technological progress in the country. The company's move to reintroduce the Citroen brand in 2022 was driven by the rising demand for electric vehicles in the Saudi market, particularly among the younger population prioritizing sustainability.

Stellantis aims to increase its sales in Saudi Arabia and supply 90 percent of the cars and parts needed in the Middle East and Africa from within the region. The company plans to introduce new EV models in Saudi Arabia and target a 30 percent market share by 2030. Cherfan highlighted the importance of partnerships with local businesses and government entities to tailor products and services to meet Saudi consumers' needs and navigate regulatory frameworks.

Stellantis is committed to achieving 70 percent regional production autonomy by 2030, with a goal of selling one million vehicles in the region by that time, 35 percent of which will be electric. The company's strategy involves close collaboration with stakeholders to drive growth and expansion efforts in the Kingdom.
