The Border Security Force (BSF) recently made a significant heroin seizure near the India-Pakistan border in Punjab's Amritsar district. The operation was conducted following a tip-off about a suspected packet in the border area of Amritsar district. During the search, BSF troops discovered a packet of heroin weighing 440 grams. The narcotics were concealed with yellow adhesive tape and had a small LED light attached to it. This seizure occurred in a harvested crop field near Rajatal village in Amritsar (rural) district.

This successful operation once again highlights the BSF's commitment to thwarting smuggling attempts across the border. The BSF, tasked with safeguarding the challenging India-Pakistan border in Punjab, has been vigilant in its efforts. In 2023 alone, the BSF reported detecting and neutralizing 107 drones and seizing 442.395 kg of heroin.
