China and Pakistan are collaborating to establish the China-Pakistan Information Corridor (CPIC) to combat fake news and enhance media cooperation. The initiative aims to bridge the information gap, provide updates on Sino-Pakistani partnerships, and promote accurate news dissemination related to the 2nd phase of CPEC.

China and Pakistan are joining forces to establish the China-Pakistan Information Corridor (CPIC) aimed at enhancing information sharing and combatting fake news. Political and Press Counsellor Wang Shengjie of China expressed enthusiasm for Saudi Arabia's investment in a rail link between Western Pakistan and Gwadar Port, emphasizing the openness of the China, Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to third-party cooperation. The CPIC initiative seeks to bolster media cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese outlets, serving as a conduit for positive developments, particularly in the industrial, agricultural, mineral, and IT sectors under the 2nd phase of CPEC.

Counsellor Wang highlighted the importance of bridging the information gap and countering misinformation through the CPIC. Interactive sessions with Pakistani media will provide updates on Sino-Pakistani partnerships and CPEC projects, fostering a deeper understanding of the collaboration. The Chinese Embassy plans to establish a platform for media organizations from both countries to collaborate and disseminate accurate news related to the CPEC.

Under this new initiative, the Embassy will conduct regular press briefings to address emerging issues and promote mutual learning. The goal is to work closely with electronic, digital, and print media to combat fake news and ensure the successful implementation of the 2nd phase of CPEC with the support of the public and private sectors. The interactive sessions aim to strengthen the role of media in enhancing the cooperative ties between China and Pakistan.
