Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong vows to strengthen anti-terrorism cooperation

In the wake of the tragic suicide attack in Besham on March 26, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong has reaffirmed China's readiness to enhance counterterrorism and security collaboration with Pakistan. The attack, which claimed the lives of six individuals, including five Chinese engineers, has prompted a renewed focus on ensuring the safety and security of Chinese citizens in Pakistan.

Ambassador Zaidong emphasized the importance of prioritizing people's security and protecting Chinese nationals in Pakistan. He underscored that national security efforts are ultimately aimed at safeguarding the well-being and interests of the people, highlighting President Xi Jinping's commitment to putting people first.

Expressing deep concern over the recent terrorist incident, Ambassador Zaidong called for swift and thorough investigations to bring the perpetrators to justice. He urged Pakistan to intensify counterterrorism measures and create a secure environment for Chinese personnel, institutions, and projects in the country.

Furthermore, Ambassador Zaidong underscored the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in fostering economic development and cooperation between the two nations. He noted the substantial investments and infrastructure developments facilitated by CPEC over the past decade, emphasizing the need for a stable environment to sustain such progress.
