A tragic ambush near Saggu village claims the lives of five Customs officials, highlighting the risks faced by law enforcement personnel in the line of duty. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) pays tribute to the fallen heroes and stresses the importance of continued vigilance in safeguarding borders and upholding the rule of law.

On Thursday, a tragic incident occurred near the Saggu village of D I Khan District, resulting in the loss of five Customs officials' lives. The ambush took place as armed assailants targeted a Customs Intelligence vehicle within the Darban Police Station's jurisdiction, leading to the untimely demise of the officials.

Following the attack, the Customs vehicle collided with another vehicle, causing injuries to two individuals, including a child. Prompt response from the police and Rescue 1122 teams enabled the swift transfer of the injured and deceased to the hospital for necessary medical attention and procedures.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) disclosed that the Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Customs (Peshawar) was engaged in an intelligence-based operation at Daraban Road near Saggu village when the assailants launched the ambush. The fallen officials, including Intelligence Officer Aslam Khan, Havaldar Inayat Ullah Khan, Havaldar Akbar Zaman, Sepoy Iftikhar Alam, and Sepoy Shahab Ali, were honored and remembered by the FBR Chairman, Member Customs (Operations), Director General, Intelligence and Investigation (Customs), and other Pakistan Customs Service officials, who extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
