ANF officials killed in clash with drug traffickers

Three members of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) tragically lost their lives during a clash with suspected drug traffickers near Turkey toll plaza in Jhelum. The incident unfolded as the ANF officials tried to apprehend the suspects traveling along GT Road. Despite a short pursuit, the smugglers resisted and attempted to escape. The ANF team successfully intercepted them, leading to a gunfight where the suspects opened fire, resulting in the fatalities of Head Constable Gulzar, Lance Naik Mazhar, and a civilian. Two individuals perished at the scene, while another ANF member succumbed to injuries at the District Headquarters Hospital in Jhelum.

This unfortunate event highlights the dangers faced by law enforcement personnel in combating drug-related crimes. The ANF plays a crucial role in safeguarding communities from the harmful effects of narcotics trafficking, often putting their lives at risk in the line of duty.
