The Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps (North) complete preservation work at Ameer Hamza Baba Shrine, celebrating the legacy of renowned Pashto poet Ameer Hamza Baba Shinwari.

The Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps (North) have successfully completed the preservation work of the esteemed Ameer Hamza Baba Shrine in Khyber district, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province. A ceremony was held to celebrate this achievement, with Major General Noor Wali Khan, Inspector General Frontier Corps (North), as the chief guest. Major General Noor Wali Khan paid tribute to the renowned Pashto Poet Ameer Hamza Baba Shinwari by reciting Fatiha. The event showcased esteemed poets who beautifully portrayed the life and legacy of Ameer Hamza Baba Shinwari through their poetry. Local artists also showcased their talents, adding vibrancy to the ceremony.

Major General Noor Wali Khan, in his address, emphasized the pivotal role of Ameer Hamza Baba Shinwari in promoting patriotism, Pashto language, and Pashto culture. He highlighted that the embellishment of the shrine and library serves as a tribute to the visionary poet and aims to educate the youth about his extraordinary life. Ameer Hamza Baba Shinwari, born in 1907 in the Landi Kotal area of Khyber District, was revered as Baba-e-Pashto Ghazal and Sufi Saint. His poetry played a vital role in inspiring the youth during the independence movement and continued to enrich Pakistan's cultural heritage through Radio Pakistan post-independence.

The enduring legacy of Ameer Hamza Baba Shinwari was commemorated with his burial in Landi Kotal, where a mausoleum was erected to honor his invaluable contributions to the country and the region.
