Hassan Abdal welcomes over 2,500 Sikh pilgrims for Baba Guru Nanak's 555th birth anniversary, ensuring safety and community hospitality.
The historic city of Hassan Abdal is currently buzzing with excitement as it hosts a three-day celebration in honor of the 555th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak, the revered founder of Sikhism. This significant event has attracted thousands of Sikh pilgrims from around the globe, with over 2,500 individuals arriving from neighboring India. The pilgrims have gathered at the sacred Gurdwara Panja Sahib, a site of immense importance for the Sikh community.
Upon their arrival, the Indian pilgrims were greeted with warmth and hospitality by local officials, including Attock Deputy Commissioner, District Police Officer, and Assistant Commissioner Arif Qureshi. To ensure the safety and comfort of the visitors, strict security arrangements were put in place. The pilgrims were transported to Hassan Abdal in specially designated buses, highlighting the meticulous planning that went into this event.
Foolproof security measures have been implemented throughout the city to safeguard the pilgrims. Local law enforcement personnel are actively patrolling the area, and as a precaution, local markets have been temporarily closed. The celebrations are set to conclude tomorrow with the performance of the Bhog ritual, a significant event in Sikh tradition. Pilgrims will also have the opportunity to pay their respects at the sacred site of Baba Wali Qandhari’s sitting place, located on the Sacha Sauda hill.
