The Margalla Hills Half Marathon in Islamabad promotes running for health, climate awareness, and environmental conservation, with champions recognized and government support acknowledged.

Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change, Romina Khurshid Alam praised the civil society's initiative to promote running as a healthy leisure activity during the Margalla Hills Half Marathon. The event, held at Trail-5 of the National Park, aimed to raise climate awareness and attracted over 150 participants from across Pakistan, including diplomats, foreigners, and experienced runners.

Khurshid Alam emphasized the importance of climate awareness and sustainable development goals, urging the public to reduce single-use plastics. She commended the participants for their dedication to nature and clean air during the marathon.

The event also received support from Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) Chairperson, Rina Saeed Khan, who highlighted the significance of environmental conservation and responsible behavior towards nature. Khan praised Khurshid Alam for her advocacy of the environment and expressed gratitude for her support.

Founder of Islamabad Run With Us, Qasim Naz, shared that the marathon aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle and preserve the beauty of Margalla Hills National Park. Despite limited media coverage due to Ramadan, the event successfully attracted 150 participants.

Awards were presented to the winners, with Inab Khan and Muhammad Akhtar emerging as champions in the female and male categories, respectively. The event's co-partner, North Naturals, acknowledged the government's leadership in disaster-prone regions and emphasized the importance of collective efforts for environmental sustainability.

In conclusion, the Margalla Hills Half Marathon not only celebrated athleticism but also underscored the significance of climate awareness and environmental conservation in Pakistan's capital.
