LHDP Leads Heatwave Relief Efforts in Larkana

Amidst a heatwave alert issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the Laar Humanitarian and Development Programme (LHDP) has sprung into action in collaboration with partner organizations to safeguard the residents of Larkana.

The LHDP, alongside its partners, has initiated a series of preventive measures to combat the scorching temperatures. Cooling points and electric water coolers have been strategically placed across Larkana to provide relief. Moreover, the organization has conducted awareness sessions, distributed preventive kits, and organized workshops to formulate effective contingency plans.

In a bid to enhance the healthcare infrastructure, LHDP has assessed government hospitals, equipped emergency units with necessary supplies, and ensured the availability of vital medicines. This comprehensive approach aims to minimize the impact of the heatwave on the local population.

The Mayor of Larkana Municipal Corporation has lauded the efforts of LHDP and its partners for swiftly setting up emergency camps and supplying essential items to both urban and rural areas. He has urged the public to prioritize hydration, stay indoors, and limit sun exposure during peak hours to stay safe.
