Majority of Pakistani Husbands Oppose Violence Against Wives

In a recent survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan, it was revealed that a significant majority of husbands in Pakistan are firmly against violence towards their wives. The survey found that 89% of Pakistani husbands oppose any form of violence against their spouses.

The survey results shed light on the prevailing attitudes towards domestic violence in the country. The overwhelming majority of respondents expressed their disapproval of physical abuse or any kind of violence directed towards wives. Only a small minority, comprising 9% of the participants, supported and justified the use of violence by husbands against their wives.

Interestingly, the survey also highlighted a neutral stance taken by a minority of 1% of Pakistani husbands. These individuals neither openly supported nor opposed the idea of violence against wives, indicating a more nuanced perspective on the issue.
