The recent matriculation exams faced challenges with a paper leak but continue with strict measures to ensure fairness and integrity. Over 368,000 students are participating in these crucial exams with the board taking exceptional steps like setting up an exam center in the Central Jail to provide equal opportunities for all candidates.

The recent matriculation examinations conducted by the Secondary Education Board have faced a significant setback due to the leakage of the Chemistry paper meant for the 10th-grade science group. This incident, which occurred before the exam commencement, has highlighted the ongoing struggles of the education sector in maintaining the integrity of assessments.

Despite this unfortunate occurrence, the examination process continues smoothly. In the upcoming afternoon session, 9th-grade general group students are preparing for their mandatory Islamic Studies paper. Over 160,000 tenth-grade science students and more than 16,000 ninth-grade general group students are participating in these crucial exams. To accommodate this large number of examinees, a total of 505 examination centers have been established across the city, including 148 government schools and 357 private institutions.

An exceptional step has been taken by setting up an examination center within the Central Jail to enable 22 incarcerated students to participate in the matriculation exams. This move reflects the board's commitment to providing equal opportunities to all candidates. With a total of 368,000 students registered for the exams, the Matric Board has issued strict guidelines to ensure a fair and seamless examination process.

To maintain exam integrity, a strict ban on mobile phones has been enforced during the exams, with non-compliance resulting in device confiscation. Furthermore, to create a distraction-free environment around the examination centers, Section 144 has been implemented, leading to the closure of photocopy shops in the vicinity during exam hours.

The ongoing matriculation examinations, despite facing challenges like paper leaks, are progressing with the commitment of the education board to uphold fairness and integrity. The initiatives taken, such as setting up an exam center in the Central Jail and enforcing strict guidelines, aim to provide all students with an equal opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge. As the exams continue, it is crucial for all stakeholders to support a conducive environment for students to excel in their assessments.
