The officials, namely ASI Mushtaq, driver Fayaz, and constable Saeed from Rangpur Police Station, were found engaged in illicit activities. They were reportedly taking kickbacks in return for smuggling and selling the diesel across different areas of the district.

The District Police Officer (DPO) Husnain Haider took swift action by suspending the accused officials.
