The Charge d’ Affaires of Pakistan performs a traditional ritual at Hazrat Amir Khusro shrine, highlighting Sufi saints' contributions and promoting religious and cultural exchanges between India and Pakistan.

In a gesture of goodwill and religious reverence, the Charge d’ Affaires of Pakistan to India, Saad Ahmad Warraich, recently performed a traditional ritual at the shrine of the renowned mystic saint, Hazrat Amir Khusro, in New Delhi. This act took place during the 720 Urs celebrations of Hazrat Amir Khusro, where a group of 70 Pakistani Zaireen were also in attendance.

The delegation, led by the Charge d’ Affaires, laid a ceremonial chaddar at the shrine as a mark of respect and devotion. Following this gesture, prayers were offered for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan. Additionally, the group visited the Dargah of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia (RA) within the same compound, where further tributes were paid.

During the visit, the Charge d’ Affaires highlighted the significant contributions of Sufi saints in spreading the message of love and harmony in line with the teachings of Islam. He commended their efforts towards social equality and collective well-being, emphasizing their enduring impact on society.

The Pakistani Zaireen expressed their gratitude towards the Government of Pakistan and the High Commission for facilitating their visit, underscoring the importance of religious and cultural exchanges between India and Pakistan. This visit was conducted under the provisions of the 1974 India-Pakistan Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines, promoting mutual understanding and respect.
