A case of attempted kidnapping in Multan highlights the importance of law enforcement intervention to protect individuals from familial aggression and uphold the rule of law.

An incident at the Old Kotwali police station in Multan has brought to light a disturbing case of attempted kidnapping. The police thwarted an attempt by brothers to abduct their married sister, Asma (27), outside the district courts. Asma had defied her family's wishes by marrying a man of her choice. Despite facing opposition, she stood firm in her decision and appeared before a court to express her desire to live with her husband, a plea that was granted.

However, as Asma exited the district court, her brothers resorted to force, slapping her and attempting to whisk her away on a motorcycle. Fortunately, vigilant bystanders intervened, and the Old Kotwali police swiftly arrived at the scene to rescue Asma. While one of the accused was apprehended, the others managed to flee. Ultimately, Asma was allowed to reunite with her husband, thanks to the timely intervention of law enforcement.

Chief Police Officer Sadiq Ali underscored the police force's unwavering commitment to safeguarding individuals from aggressors and upholding the rule of law. This incident serves as a stark reminder that no one should take the law into their own hands, and that the authorities are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens.
