Following Eidul Fitr 2024, schools in Punjab, including Lahore, will return to their regular timings after observing reduced hours during Ramadan. The Pakistan Meteorological Department predicts the Shawwal moon sighting on April 9.

After the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan and the upcoming celebration of Eidul Fitr 2024, schools in Punjab, including Lahore, are set to resume their regular timings. During Ramadan, reduced hours were implemented to accommodate the fasting period, with public and private schools observing altered schedules.

All educational institutions have declared public holidays until April 13 in observance of Eid, with classes scheduled to recommence on April 15, Monday. Throughout Ramadan, single-shift schools operated from 8:30 am to 1 pm on weekdays (Monday to Thursday), and from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm on Fridays. Second-shift schools conducted classes from 1 pm to 4 pm, with Friday timings ending at 12:15 pm for boys' schools and 12 pm for girls' schools.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted the possible sighting of the Shawwal moon on April 9. The new moon is expected to emerge on the night of April 8 at 11:21 PM, raising the likelihood of its visibility on April 9. Additionally, the federal government has announced public holidays from April 10 to 13 in observance of Eidul Fitr 2024.

As the holy month of Ramadan draws to a close and the festive occasion of Eidul Fitr approaches, schools in Punjab are gearing up to return to their regular timings. The adjustments made during Ramadan to accommodate fasting schedules will soon be lifted, allowing students to resume their full-day classes. With public holidays marking the celebration of Eid, students and teachers can look forward to a brief break before returning to their academic routines.
