PTI nominates Senator Shibli Faraz as the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, while an opposition alliance initiates a protest movement. Imran Khan refutes claims of Saudi involvement in regime change, expressing confidence in PTI's movement for constitutional supremacy.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has officially nominated Senator Shibli Faraz as their candidate for the Leader of the Opposition in the Upper House. This decision comes following a directive from PTI founder Imran Khan, with all 19 PTI senators endorsing Shibli for the position. Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) Chairman Sahibzada Muhammad Hamid Raza confirmed Senator Shibli Faraz's appointment as the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, in accordance with Imran Khan's instructions after a meeting at Adiala Jail.

Moreover, a six-party opposition alliance, Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ain, initiated a protest movement from Balochistan and plans to expand its rallies nationwide. The SIC, a part of the alliance, will host a meeting in Lahore on April 29 to strategize the movement's next steps.

Contrary to previous reports, Imran Khan refuted claims of Saudi Arabia's involvement in any regime change operation in Pakistan. He highlighted Saudi Arabia's support during his tenure, including hosting the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation conference and providing financial assistance.

PTI's Central Information Secretary Raoof Hassan expressed confidence in their movement for constitutional supremacy and the rule of law, anticipating positive developments and Imran Khan's imminent release from jail. The party plans to adopt a more assertive media policy, addressing new topics and clarifying any misconceptions, as reiterated by PTI leader Muzzammil Aslam regarding statements attributed to Imran Khan and the Saudi government.
