Six new permanent judges were sworn in at the Sindh High Court, bringing the total to 32 judges. This development aims to improve efficiency, address case backlog, and enhance justice dispensation in Karachi and Sindh.

Karachi's legal landscape witnessed a significant development as six additional judges of the Sindh High Court (SHC) were sworn in as permanent judges. The oath-taking ceremony, presided over by Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi, was attended by SHC judges, representatives from the bar association, lawyers, and the families of the newly appointed permanent judges.

With the addition of these six judges, the total number of permanent judges in the SHC now stands at 32. However, there are still eight vacant seats awaiting appointments. The newly appointed permanent judges include Justice Amjad Ali, Justice Sana Ikram Minhas, Justice Jawad Akbar, Justice Khadim Hussain Somro, Justice Abd-ur-Rehman, and Justice Arbab Ali.

This development marks a crucial step in ensuring the efficient functioning of the SHC and addressing the backlog of cases. The appointment of these judges is expected to contribute to the timely dispensation of justice and the effective resolution of legal matters in Karachi and the wider Sindh region.
