Tragic Wedding Incident Leads to Arrests

A wedding celebration in the Mandra police station area of Gujar Khan took a devastating turn when a young man lost his life due to a bullet injury. The incident, which occurred during aerial firing, cast a shadow of sorrow over what was meant to be a joyous occasion. The tragedy unfolded in the village of Pari Ferozwal, where Rizwan, a guest at the wedding, tragically succumbed to a fatal bullet wound, bringing the festivities to an abrupt and somber halt.

Upon receiving the distressing news, the Mandra police swiftly responded by apprehending four individuals, namely Gazanfar, Awais, Shoaib, and the groom, Uzair. The body of the deceased was promptly transferred to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) Gujar Khan for a postmortem examination, while legal proceedings were initiated against the suspects involved in the incident.

SSP Investigations, Hafiz Kamran Asghar, emphasized the gravity of the situation by assigning SP Saddar Division, Muhammad Nabeel Khokhar, the task of compiling a detailed report on the tragic event. Stringent measures were underscored to hold accountable those who recklessly endanger lives through such irresponsible actions.

In a separate unfortunate incident on the same day, a man named Masoom Kiyani sustained injuries after being struck by a train in the Dina area. Reports from Rescue 1122 indicated that Kiyani was hit while attempting to cross a railway track near the hockey ground in Dina. Following initial medical aid from Rescue 1122, he was promptly transferred to DHQ Jhelum for further medical attention.

The incidents in Gujar Khan serve as stark reminders of the dire consequences of negligence and reckless behavior. It is imperative for individuals to exercise caution and responsibility, especially during celebrations, to prevent such tragic occurrences from recurring in the future.
