Trina Solar Asia Pacific Introduces 200 MW Solar Power in Pakistan

Trina Solar Asia Pacific, a prominent solar energy company based in China, has unveiled a significant initiative to introduce 200 megawatts (MW) of solar power into Pakistan's electricity grid. This move aims to reduce the country's reliance on expensive thermal energy production methods. The project will utilize cutting-edge Vertex N modules, marking a substantial advancement in Pakistan's journey towards embracing sustainable energy solutions.

Pakistan is currently grappling with challenges stemming from high electricity tariffs, largely attributed to its heavy dependence on costly oil-based thermal power generation. In response to this pressing issue, Trina Solar has forged partnerships with key Pakistani enterprises, solidifying strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to facilitate the seamless integration of solar energy into the national power network.

Renowned globally for its innovative photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage solutions, Trina Solar has committed to providing 200 MW of Vertex N modules for diverse applications in collaboration with Mesol, Diwan International, and Zi Solar. These state-of-the-art modules, featuring larger 210mm solar cells and n-type i-TOPCon cell technology, are poised to bolster Pakistan's transition towards renewable energy sources.

Presently, solar energy constitutes a mere 2 percent of Pakistan's domestic power grid, underscoring the immense potential for expansion and advancement in the renewable energy sector within the nation.
