The Gilani family, led by Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, has made history in Pakistani politics by securing multiple seats in the National and Provincial assemblies. Their remarkable achievements highlight the deep-rooted ties between Multan and the PPP, emphasizing the importance of dedication and loyalty in politics.

Chairman of the Senate, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, and his four sons have made headlines by securing multiple seats in the National and Provincial assemblies, setting a new record in Pakistani politics. The Gilani family's remarkable feat includes Syed Ali Qasim Gilani winning the NA-148 by-elections with an impressive 85,000 votes, filling the seat left vacant when his father moved to the Senate and later became the Chairman unopposed.

In the general elections, Qasim's elder brothers, Syed Ali Musa Gilani and Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani, clinched seats from NA-151 and NA-152 respectively. Another brother, Syed Ali Haider Gilani, also secured a seat in the Punjab Assembly from PP-213. The family's parliamentary representation further expanded with Syed Sami Gilani, a nephew of Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, being elected as an MNA from Ahmedpur East, bringing the total to five members serving in Parliament simultaneously.

Khawaja Rizwan Alam, Senior Vice President of PPP South Punjab, emphasized the significance of this achievement, stating that the Gilani family's collective presence in the legislative bodies is a source of pride for Multan and South Punjab.

Reflecting on Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani's political journey, Alam highlighted his steadfast loyalty to the PPP since joining in 1987. Gilani's unwavering commitment to the party, even during challenging times like the Musharraf era, where he faced imprisonment but remained loyal, showcases his dedication. Alam also pointed out Multan's historical significance for the PPP, being the hometown of two former Prime Ministers, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, who both started their political careers as MNAs from the city.

Multan's political legacy extends further with two National Assembly speakers, Sahabzada Farooq Ali Khan, and Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, both hailing from the region.

The Gilani family's political success not only marks a historic moment in Pakistan's political landscape but also underscores the deep-rooted ties between Multan and the PPP. Their collective achievements serve as an inspiration for aspiring politicians and highlight the importance of dedication and loyalty in the realm of politics.
