The victim, identified as 33-year-old Shujaat Ali, was shot dead in the Sikandar Goth area during the early hours of Monday morning. Shujaat, a resident of Lyaqat Abad, was married for four years but had no children. He was the youngest among his siblings and worked in the family business of running a school van.

Shujaat's routine involved providing pick-up and drop services for a school in the morning and assisting girls from beauty parlours in the evenings. Concerned about the city's security, he had obtained a weapon license a year ago and carried a pistol for protection. On the night of the incident, while dropping off a girl in Scheme 33 Sikandar Goth, Shujaat noticed suspicious individuals following them on motorcycles. When he attempted to flee, armed robbers intercepted his car, shot him in the chest, and fled the scene.

Family members of the deceased emphasized that Shujaat had no personal conflicts or financial disputes with anyone, indicating that the incident was a case of attempted robbery turned fatal. The culprits left behind their mobile phones and other belongings, suggesting their primary motive was theft.
