Aitzaz Ahsan Advises Imran Khan on Strategic Meetings

Senior lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan has advised Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to consider meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari. Ahsan believes that such a meeting could open up various opportunities for Khan.

Speaking outside the Lahore High Court, Ahsan expressed his opinion that Khan's release from jail is unlikely in the near future. He pointed out that Khan's reluctance to engage in dialogue with individuals he disagrees with is impeding his progress. Ahsan stressed the importance of being open to discussions with everyone while standing firm on principles.

Ahsan highlighted that the judges involved in Khan's case are either independent or have affiliations with the government, not with PTI. He mentioned Khan's refusal to meet with individuals he considers 'thieves,' which has worsened his current situation.

The Islamabad High Court recently delivered a verdict on the pleas challenging Khan's conviction in the cipher case. Earlier this year, Khan and the party's vice-chairman were sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection with the case, which revolves around allegations of disclosing classified information.
