Former president Arif Alvi reveals Imran Khan's refusal to leave Pakistan, PTI's stance on dialogue, and criticism of government's decision-making power. Alvi highlights challenges in achieving genuine accountability in the country.

Former president and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Dr. Arif Alvi disclosed that there have been efforts to convince the imprisoned party founder Imran Khan to strike a deal and depart the country, a proposal that Khan staunchly turned down. Alvi stressed that Khan is resolute in staying in Pakistan regardless of the circumstances and foretold that those plotting against him would ultimately meet failure.

Alvi mentioned that PTI is willing to engage in discussions with relevant stakeholders but not with those who do not have a significant stake in the issue. He urged all parties involved to let go of hostility and embrace empathy, reassuring them not to be apprehensive about any risks following Khan's potential release.

Moreover, Alvi called for the release of the former prime minister, the maintenance of law and order in the nation, and the restoration of PTI's electoral mandate. He criticized the current authorities for lacking power and decision-making capabilities, indicating that his party would only participate in talks with those capable of making substantial decisions.

Alvi's remarks were prompted by the government's appeals for PTI to engage in negotiations to resolve the ongoing political turmoil. Despite these requests, PTI has yet to provide a definitive response, resulting in a deadlock in the dialogue process.

Expressing his disappointment with the accountability procedures in Pakistan, Alvi highlighted the obstacles in achieving genuine accountability within the country. His comments underscore the intricacies of the political environment and the necessity for meaningful discussions to navigate through the current deadlock.
