Attaullah Tarar refutes false claims, government addresses key issues like electricity bills and tax exemptions, focusing on transparency and economic stability.

The Information Minister, Attaullah Tarar, has debunked false claims made by former party members regarding the allocation of Rs500 billion funds to MNAs in the federal budget 2024-25. Tarar clarified that no such allocation was made and instead, Rs1,500 billion was earmarked for crucial development projects. He stressed the importance of accurate information sharing and criticized the spread of misinformation.

Addressing concerns about inflated electricity bills, the Energy Minister will hold a news conference to tackle the issue. The government is contemplating privatizing electricity distribution companies to boost profitability. Despite reducing petroleum prices by up to Rs 35, fluctuations in the global market continue to impact local prices.

Furthermore, tax exemptions have been granted to martyrs' families and retired civil officers. The upcoming general election is set for 2029, following the completion of the current government's constitutional tenure. Tarar underscored the importance of negotiations and dialogue in resolving political matters.

The government's austerity measures are actively in progress. Tarar praised Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif for their respectful treatment of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Miftah Ismail. He urged his former colleagues to acknowledge the government's efforts in curbing expenses and inflation.

Raising questions about Abbasi and Ismail's stance on FBR's digitization, PIA's privatization, minimum wage increments, and tax exemptions on various items, Tarar emphasized the Prime Minister's focus on supporting the middle class and taxing the wealthy. He called for unity in endorsing these initiatives, even for those engaging in unwarranted criticism.

The government's recent clarifications and actions aim to promote transparency, economic stability, and social welfare. By addressing key issues and emphasizing the importance of accurate information, the government is striving to create a more informed and prosperous society.
