The Peshawar High Court intervenes to protect Chief Minister Amin Gandapur from arrest in various cases, including suspension of ECP notice and cancellation of arrest warrants.

The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has issued a directive preventing the Punjab police and other agencies from arresting Chief Minister Amin Gandapur in any case. The court, presided over by Justice S M Ateeq Shah and Justice Waqar Ahmed, instructed the filing of a petition in the Lahore High Court within 30 days to obtain details of cases registered against the Chief Minister, including those with NAB and FIA. The court advised the KP government to liaise with the Punjab Government regarding the case specifics.

Ali Amin Ganadapur, serving as the Chief Executive of a province, would face significant implications if arrested, as highlighted during the court proceedings.

Suspension of ECP Notice by PHC

In a separate development, the Peshawar High Court suspended a notice from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) that had summoned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in an assets case. The two-member bench, comprising Justice SM Attiq Shah and Justice Shakeel Ahmed, suspended the ECP notice.

The petitioner's counsel argued that the ECP no longer had the authority to request previous year's assets details, citing their availability on the Election Commission's website.

Arrest Warrants Cancelled

Furthermore, a local court in Islamabad canceled the arrest warrants issued for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in connection with PTI's 'Haqiqi Azadi March'.

Conclusion

The recent legal developments surrounding Chief Minister Amin Gandapur underscore the complexities and legal intricacies involved in high-profile cases. The interventions by the Peshawar High Court have temporarily shielded the Chief Minister from potential legal actions, pending further proceedings in the Lahore High Court and ongoing discussions between the KP and Punjab governments.
