The Islamabad High Court directs the CDA to reinstate the PTI Central Secretariat, highlighting the importance of following due process and upholding constitutional rights.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued a directive to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to reinstate the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Secretariat. This decision came after Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz emphasized that the CDA must adhere to the law when addressing any violations related to the PTI Central Secretariat.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that the CDA had allegedly issued notices to the former owner in 2022 and 2023, but there was no documented evidence of these communications. Furthermore, the CDA failed to notify the PTI before sealing its office, and the PTI was not served with the sealing order.

The situation escalated when the CDA demolished a portion of the PTI Central Secretariat, citing building regulation violations as part of an anti-encroachment operation. In response, PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan filed a petition accusing the authorities of acting without proper notification, alleging malafide intentions, and a violation of constitutional principles.

In light of these developments, the IHC intervened to rectify the situation and ensure that the CDA reinstates the PTI Central Secretariat in compliance with the law. This case serves as a reminder of the importance of following due process and upholding constitutional rights in all administrative actions.
