An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad issues a warning to PTI leaders for potential 'absconder' status due to failure to appear in court. Emphasis on legal compliance and presentation of evidence in upcoming hearings.

An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad has issued a warning to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and other individuals for potential classification as 'absconders' due to their failure to appear in court. The warning came during the hearing of two cases related to alleged vandalism and violation of Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure at police stations in Sangjani and I-9 areas of Islamabad.

During the hearing, PTI leaders Faisal Javed Khan, Ali Nawaz Awan, Wasiq Qayyum, Aamer Kiani, and other suspects were present, while exemption pleas were submitted by KP CM Gandapur and PTI leader Amir Mughal. The judge, however, dismissed the exemption request, stressing that it is the responsibility of the suspects to appear before the court.

Non-bailable warrants were issued for all absent suspects, with a strict warning that those who fail to appear on July 8 will be labeled as 'absconders' without the usual 30-day waiting period. The judge emphasized that the cases will only proceed if substantial evidence is presented; otherwise, they will be disposed of.

Furthermore, the court has requested a written reply from the Superintendent of Adiala jail regarding the PTI founder's potential appearance via video link. Both cases have been adjourned until July 8, with a decision to hold daily hearings starting from the next session.

The court's warning to classify the absent suspects as 'absconders' underscores the importance of complying with legal proceedings. It serves as a reminder that all individuals, regardless of their position, are accountable before the law. The upcoming hearings and the requirement for substantial evidence highlight the court's commitment to ensuring a fair and just legal process.
