Mahmood Khan Achakzai, PMAP chief, takes legal action against false accusations of land occupation. Demands Rs20 billion in damages, seeks apology or warns of legal consequences.

Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai has taken legal action against former Balochistan caretaker information minister Jan Achakzai and government officials for falsely accusing him of land occupation. Achakzai has demanded Rs20 billion in damages for the baseless allegations and subsequent media trial conducted against him.

The Pashtunkhwa Lawyers’ Forum has filed a suit on behalf of Achakzai, highlighting the damage caused to his and his family's reputation due to the fabricated charges. The accused have been given seven days to hold a press conference and issue a public apology to Achakzai and his family, or face legal consequences.

Earlier, a judicial magistrate in Quetta suspended an arrest warrant issued against Achakzai in connection with allegations of house and criminal trespass. The charges stemmed from claims of illegal occupation of government land and obstruction of official duties, following an incident involving his security guard possessing an unlicensed AK-47.

The legal notice sent by PMAP chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai underscores the seriousness of the false accusations made against him. The demand for Rs20 billion in damages reflects the impact of the baseless propaganda on his reputation. The upcoming response from the accused parties will determine the course of action in this legal dispute.
