Mukhtar Bacha, a prominent figure in Pakistani politics and a staunch advocate for democracy and human rights, was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Bacha Killay, Pir Baba. Bacha, who passed away at the age of 80 in Peshawar, was a former provincial president of the National Party and a respected nationalist leader.

Born on February 25, 1944, in Pir Baba village, Bacha pursued his education in the field of Botany, earning a BSc from the University of Karachi and an MSc from the University of Peshawar. He began his career as a science teacher in his village before transitioning to become an agriculture officer at the Agriculture Research Station in Peshawar.

Bacha's political journey started with his involvement in the Communist Party of the then NWFP province, where he served as the first secretary. Over the years, he played a pivotal role in the founding of the Pakistan National Party and the Qaumi Inqilabi Party, showcasing his progressive ideologies and commitment to social change.

As the KP president of the National Party until 2017 and a member of the party's central committee at the time of his passing, Bacha left a lasting impact on the political landscape of the region.
