The by-elections in Punjab and Balochistan witnessed violence, leading to the tragic death of a PML-N worker. The ECP addressed irregularities and clashes, emphasizing the importance of upholding democratic principles and maintaining law and order.

The by-elections in Punjab and Balochistan were marred by violence and disruptions, leading to the tragic death of a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) worker in Narowal. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) took notice of this incident and other complaints, including the alleged abduction of polling staff in Qila Abdullah.

During the polling process, clashes between workers of different political parties erupted in various areas of Punjab, resulting in the suspension of cellular and internet services in some districts to maintain law and order. The violent clash in Narowal's PP-54 claimed the life of PML-N activist Muhammad Yousuf, who was fatally injured during a confrontation with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) backed Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) workers.

PML-N leaders, including Vice President Hamza Shehbaz and Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal, condemned the violence and criticized PTI for promoting hooliganism in elections. The Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab issued orders to ensure law and order in all constituencies, directing strict action against violators and enhancing security measures.

The ECP also addressed complaints of irregularities, such as the alleged abduction of polling staff in Qila Abdullah and the improper conduct of presiding officers in Lahore's PP-149 constituency. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikander Sultan Raja intervened in an incident where armed men disrupted the electoral process in Balochistan's PB-50 Qilla Abdullah.

The incidents of violence and irregularities during the by-elections highlight the challenges faced in ensuring a fair and peaceful electoral process. The ECP's swift response to these issues underscores the importance of upholding democratic principles and maintaining law and order in electoral events.
