Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani announces PPP and PML-N reconciliation agreement in Pakistani politics. PPP commits to supporting federal government, highlights past military operations, and praises unity with China in supporting CPEC.

Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani recently announced a significant development in Pakistani politics, revealing that the PPP and PML-N have come to a reconciliation agreement. This agreement includes the PML-N accepting all of the PPP's demands, with a primary focus on the PPP's desire to expand its presence in Punjab due to perceived space constraints. The issue was raised by PPP Chair Bilawal Bhutto Zardari during discussions with PML-N leaders.

One key aspect highlighted by Gillani is the PPP's commitment to supporting the federal government in addressing economic challenges and alleviating public burdens, even though the PPP is not a part of the federal cabinet. Gillani emphasized that decisions regarding the PPP's potential inclusion in the cabinet will be based on the party's interests rather than personal ambitions.

Reflecting on past military operations to combat terrorism, Gillani recalled the 'Azm-e-Istehkam' operation during his tenure as prime minister. He noted the successful operations in Swat and Malakand, which enabled the safe return of 2.5 million internally displaced persons within a short period. Gillani also highlighted the importance of improving conditions in Afghanistan for the dignified repatriation of the 3 million Afghan refugees currently residing in Pakistan.

In a separate development, Gillani praised the unity displayed by Pakistan in supporting the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) during the recent visit of Liu Jianchao, the Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China. The strong friendship between Pakistan and China was underscored, with leaders from various political parties, including PTI, demonstrating solidarity with China.

The reconciliation between PPP and PML-N marks a significant step in Pakistani politics, with implications for the country's governance and economic policies. The commitment of political parties to work together for the betterment of the nation, as seen in the support for initiatives like CPEC, reflects a positive direction for Pakistan's future.
