The Pakistan Red Crescent Society, in partnership with IFRC, distributes 360 buffaloes to flood-affected regions in Pakistan, emphasizing commitment to community support initiatives.

In response to the devastating floods that hit Pakistan in 2022, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) partnered with the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to provide support to affected communities. Recently, the distribution process of 360 buffaloes was successfully completed in Sindh and Balochistan regions.

The distribution included 60 buffaloes each in five districts of Sindh - Larkana, Qambar Shahdadkot, Dadu, Khairpur, and Shikarpur. Additionally, 60 buffaloes were allocated to the Jaffarabad district in Balochistan. Plans are in place to distribute 120 buffaloes in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Dera Ghazi Khan district of Punjab in the near future.

The distribution ceremonies held in the respective districts were attended by key figures including Muhammad Abaidullah Khan, Secretary General of PRCS, and Piwi Ophoff, Head of Country Delegation, IFRC Pakistan. The commitment of PRCS to supporting communities through various initiatives such as cash assistance, shelter, livelihood support, healthcare, and hygiene promotion was emphasized during the events.

Chairman of PRCS, Sardar Shahid Ahmad Laghari, expressed gratitude for the dedicated efforts of PRCS staff and volunteers in ensuring a transparent distribution process. He reiterated PRCS's dedication to continuing its assistance to communities in need.
