Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan, Haji Gulbar Khan, has successfully advocated for the establishment of a high-level committee by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to tackle the longstanding challenges faced by the region. This committee, headed by Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister for Finance & Revenue, comprises nine members, including key ministers and officials from various departments.

The primary objective of the committee is to provide recommendations on critical issues such as financial concerns, net hydel profits, establishment of new districts, electricity shortages, and wheat subsidies in Gilgit-Baltistan. It has been assigned the task of presenting a detailed report to the Prime Minister within thirty days, outlining a strategic roadmap to address these urgent matters.

Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan has lauded the prompt action taken by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in constituting this committee. He has assured full support from his government in implementing the committee's proposals and overcoming the obstacles confronting the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
