The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) challenges Punjab's defamation law, demands wage increase, and criticizes PML-N for misattributing projects.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has taken a bold step by announcing its plan to challenge the Punjab defamation law in court. This move comes after the opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly criticized the Punjab government's recent actions, particularly focusing on the implementation of the Punjab Defamation Act 2024 and the handling of wheat procurement issues.

The PTI leader raised concerns about the Punjab government's allocation of funds for a cancer hospital, questioning the adequacy of the budget. Furthermore, he pointed out that projects such as health cards and farmer cards, which were originally introduced by the PTI, were being wrongly attributed to the PML-N.

Expressing solidarity with journalists, the PTI has decided to contest the defamation law in court. The opposition leader also criticized the Punjab government for renaming the farmer card after Nawaz Sharif, accusing the PML-N of diverting attention from governance issues by targeting the PTI.

In addition to challenging the defamation law, the PTI has demanded a 10 percent wage increase for government employees due to the significant rise in inflation over the past three months.

The PTI's decision to challenge the Punjab defamation law reflects its commitment to upholding democratic values and ensuring accountability in governance. By highlighting discrepancies in the Punjab government's actions and advocating for the rights of government employees, the PTI continues to be a vocal opposition force in Punjab's political landscape.
