The Islamabad High Court instructs PTI leaders to cooperate with FIA in an ongoing investigation, emphasizing transparency and adherence to legal procedures. PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan declines FIA appearance, raising concerns about allegations and questions posed.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has instructed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and the party’s Central Information Secretary Raoof Hasan to provide statements to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) regarding the X post investigation. The court has directed the PTI leaders to cooperate with the FIA without facing any harassment or adverse actions.

Following petitions against the FIA's call-up notices, IHC Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani issued a written order, summoning the PTI leaders to appear before the probe agency. The court has also directed the leaders to record their statements before the FIA and has asked for a response from the federal agency by June 25.

Earlier, PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan declined to appear before the FIA, citing prior commitments. The FIA had initiated an investigation into a post on X, attributed to former Prime Minister Imran Khan, prompting the agency to call upon top PTI leaders for questioning.

In response to the FIA's notice, Ayub termed the allegations defamatory and raised concerns about the nature of the questions posed. He explained his absence by highlighting his involvement in various legal matters and requested the FIA to provide him with relevant documents and adequate time for preparation.

Ayub warned that he would take legal action if necessary and expressed his intention to address the issue through appropriate channels, including the parliament.

The Islamabad High Court's directive to PTI leaders to provide statements to the FIA marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation. The court's emphasis on cooperation and adherence to legal procedures underscores the importance of transparency and accountability in such matters. As the case unfolds, it remains crucial for all parties involved to uphold the principles of justice and due process.
