An anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi has granted bail to PTI leader Usman Dar in 12 cases connected to the violence that erupted on May 9. The court approved the bail petitions following a hearing where Dar and his lawyer Advocate Muhammad Faisal Malik presented arguments. The verdict was announced by Malik Ijaz Asif.
The violence on May 9 was triggered by the news of the arrest of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan. Subsequently, a significant number of individuals took to the streets, resulting in the ransacking and setting on fire of government and military buildings.
This development comes as a significant relief for Usman Dar, allowing him to address the legal challenges he faced in connection to the May 9 violence. The bail granted by the court signifies a step towards resolving the legal proceedings against Dar.
