Punjab Minister Ramesh Singh Reviews Vaisakhi Mela Preparations

Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs, Sardar Ramesh Singh, conducted a thorough review of the preparations for the upcoming Vaisakhi Mela at Gurdwara Punja Sahib in Hassanabdal. The inspection was aimed at ensuring a smooth and secure experience for the pilgrims.

Accompanied by key officials including Punjab Home Department Secretary Noor-ul-Amin Mengal and Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza, the minister assessed various facilities such as the foreign boarding block, kitchen, and prayer area. Emphasis was placed on security, boarding, lodging, and cleanliness standards to be provided to the pilgrims.

During the visit, it was highlighted that the pilgrims would receive complimentary food and medical services throughout their pilgrimage. Special attention was given to implementing robust security measures for Indian Sikh pilgrims, taking into account the current law and order situation in the country.

Following the inspection at Gurdwara Punja Sahib, Noor-ul-Amin Mengal also visited a Chinese camp in Hattain near Kamra to oversee security arrangements for Chinese engineers engaged in various hydropower projects.

The proactive review conducted by Punjab Minister Sardar Ramesh Singh and the subsequent visits by officials demonstrate the government's commitment to ensuring the safety and comfort of both Indian Sikh pilgrims and Chinese engineers. The comprehensive assessment of facilities and security measures reflects a dedicated approach towards facilitating religious gatherings and safeguarding foreign workers in the region.
