Senator Irfan Siddiqui stresses the need for positive budget contributions and criticizes the PTI government's economic policies and corruption allegations. He calls for unity and constructive dialogue to address Pakistan's challenges.

In a recent parliamentary session discussing the Federal budget 2024-25, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Parliamentary Leader Senator Irfan Siddiqui highlighted the importance of offering constructive suggestions rather than mere criticism. He urged opposition parties to provide positive recommendations for the budget, emphasizing that political statements do not always serve the best interests of the people.

Siddiqui drew comparisons between the economic indicators during PML-N's tenure and the current government, noting that inflation stood at 3 percent and GDP growth exceeded 6 percent when his party left office in 2018. In contrast, he pointed out that the current government has faced a significant 39 percent inflation rate. He also commended the confidence displayed by overseas Pakistanis through $34 billion in remittances.

The Senator criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for rapidly accumulating loans equivalent to the total borrowed in the previous 75 years. He defended PML-N's economic policies, highlighting their decision to part ways with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under Nawaz Sharif's leadership.

Siddiqui raised concerns about the opposition's silence on alleged election rigging in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the same Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) oversaw the polls. He accused PTI's founder of neglecting parliamentary duties and cited instances of political unrest despite the Supreme Court Commission's affirmation of the 2018 elections' fairness.

Addressing corruption allegations against Nawaz Sharif, Siddiqui clarified that no corruption or kickback cases have been proven, with the only charge related to assets beyond means remaining unsubstantiated. He accused the PTI government of corruption, alleging mismanagement of recovered funds and interference with Pakistan's loan agreements.

Emphasizing the necessity of broadening the tax base for national revenue growth, Siddiqui criticized the PTI leadership for allegedly inciting attacks on various installations. He concluded by stressing the importance of unity and constructive dialogue in shaping the country's economic and political landscape.

Senator Irfan Siddiqui's call for constructive engagement in budget discussions underscores the need for positive contributions from all political parties. By focusing on solutions rather than criticisms, Pakistan can work towards a more stable and prosperous future. It is essential for leaders to prioritize the interests of the people and engage in meaningful dialogue to address the country's economic and political challenges.
