Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid temporarily steps back from politics, criticizing the PML-N government for budget mismanagement and high public burden due to excessive taxation and electricity tariffs. He calls for a united effort to address pressing national challenges.

Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid has announced a temporary withdrawal from politics until August 30, citing concerns over the current state of affairs in Pakistan. During a recent media interaction following Eid prayers, Rashid expressed strong criticism towards the PML-N-led coalition government for its alleged mismanagement of the national budget.

Rashid highlighted the heavy burden placed on the public due to excessive taxation, which has made it challenging for many to afford basic necessities. He pointed out the dilemma faced by citizens who are forced to prioritize between paying electricity bills or their children's school fees, attributing this predicament to the government's failure in meeting the needs of the people.

Specifically, Rashid raised concerns about the significant increase in electricity tariffs, causing distress among the population. He also mentioned Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's perceived preferential treatment towards industrialists by reducing power tariffs substantially, which further exacerbated the public's frustration.

Expressing solidarity with PTI founder Imran Khan, Rashid asserted that negotiations with the current government are futile, as he believes the true power dynamics are controlled elsewhere. He called for a united effort involving all stakeholders to address the pressing challenges facing the nation.

Rashid questioned the government's failure to fulfill promises of receiving $25 billion from Saudi Arabia and warned of potential public unrest. He expressed a belief that the government may be under a divine curse, emphasizing the urgent need for collective action to navigate the current crisis.
