The Ambassador of the United States of America to Pakistan, Donald Blome, recently held a meeting with Federal Minister for Finance & Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the strong and enduring relationship between Pakistan and the USA, focusing on economic reforms and investment opportunities.

During the meeting, Minister Aurangzeb updated Ambassador Blome on the successful conclusion of the Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) and the ongoing collaboration with the fund to further the reforms initiated under the SBA. The finance minister emphasized key reform priorities of the government, including boosting the tax-to-GDP ratio through digitization, expanding the tax base, and improving tax administration.

Furthermore, Minister Aurangzeb highlighted the government's commitment to privatizing State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), with a specific mention of the interest in privatizing Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
