US State Department Urges Pakistan on Human Rights

The US State Department has called on Pakistan to uphold the fundamental human rights of its people, particularly in light of the recent criticism from a United Nations body regarding the detention of PTI founder Imran Khan. The UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention in Geneva labeled Khan's detention as arbitrary and a violation of international law, recommending his immediate release and compensation.

The Department highlighted the significance of addressing issues related to Pakistani elections and allegations of rigging.
