Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath criticizes Congress for insulting Hindu faith during elections, emphasizing the complementary relationship between Lord Ram and Lord Shiva.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticized the Congress party for its president Mallikarjun Kharge's recent remarks on Lord Ram and Lord Shiva. Kharge had stated at a rally in Chhattisgarh that a party candidate could compete with Ram because he is Shiva. Reacting to this, Yogi Adityanath emphasized that Ram and Shiva are not separate entities, as Ram himself worshipped Shiva, highlighting their complementary relationship.

Adityanath condemned the Congress for insulting the Sanatan tradition of India and playing with the country's faith. He accused the party of venting its frustration by mocking Sanatan Dharma during elections. Yogi also recalled Congress's past actions, including coining the term 'Hindu terrorism' and casting doubts on the existence of Lord Ram, which he deemed as insults to Hindus.

Yogi's remarks come amidst the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, where political parties are actively campaigning across various states. The Congress has fielded Praniti Shinde, daughter of former CM Sushilkumar Shinde, as a candidate in Maharashtra's Solapur Lok Sabha constituency.
